CMS Baseball

SoMeck8 Conference Tournament

Providence enters the SoMeck8 Tournament with momentum. Posting a 13-1 conference record, they clinched their third straight regular season conference title. They'll look to use homefield advantage to make it to the final, being hosted at their stadium.

Ardrey Kell looks to be another contender in the tournament after finishing just behind rivals, Providence, in the SoMeck8 Conference Standings.

Both teams have traded losses in their two meetings this year, with both teams winning their home game.

The final will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 4th at Providence High School

Southwestern Conference Tournament

The Southwestern Conference Tournament will be hosted by regular season champs, Butler. The Bulldogs come in confident after finishing the regular season with an 11-1 conference record.

Butler will face stiff competition in the tournament, and few opponents are more formidable than conference rivals, Myers Park.

Myers Park finished second in the conference just one game behind Butler, posting a 10-2 record. They come in with momentum riding a 7 game win streak.

Butler and Myers Park have met twice this season, with each team winning their home game.

The final will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, May 5th at Butler High School.

MeckA

Hough comes into the MeckA Conference Tournament playing their best baseball of the season. In their last five games they have outscored opponents 68-3, including a 26-1 hammering of Vance.

Hough has a first round bye after clinching the MeckA regular season conference title, and will host the winner of Mallard Creek/North Meck in the semi-final at 3:30 on Wednesday, May 3.

The final will be held Wednesday at 7:30 pm at Hough.

CMS Softball

MeckA Conference Tournament

CMS schools will look to dethrone regular season champion AL Brown from the top of the MeckA Softball Conference. The Wonders finished the season undefeated in the conference at 12-0 and with a 19-2 overall record.

Hough and Hopewell both finished second and third respectively to AL Brown. Both boasting a 9-3 conference record, they will be looking for a successful tournament to improve their chances at higher seeding in the NCHSAA Softball Playoffs.

The final will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday night, following the semi-final games.

SoMeck 8 Conference Tournament

Charlotte Catholic finished the regular season at the top of the SoMeck 8 Standings, but there will be plenty of teams itching to make their mark in the SoMeck 8 Conference Tournament.

Providence will be looking for another shot at Charlotte Catholic after losing both of their regular season matchups, one of them a 2-1 extra innings loss in their last regular season game. They will face Berry in the first round of the tournament.

The winner of Providence/Berry will face Olympic, who finished with Providence just behind Charlotte Catholic in the SoMeck 8 Standings. Olympic won their first round game against West Meck 7-0.

Olympic will be confident in their chances in the tournament and will too be itching to dethrone their rivals, Charlotte Catholic. The two teams traded wins, with Olympic winning 5-0 in the first meeting and Catholic winning 7-2 in their latest meeting.

Southwestern Conference Tournament

It could be a tough fight for the Southwestern Conference Championship with Butler, Independence, and Porter Ridge all entering the tournament looking strong.

Butler will be hosting the tournament after finishing the regular season with a conference best 11-1 conference record. They have had an impressive season but still have much to prove.

Conference runner-ups Independence have even more to prove entering the tournament. After finishing with a 10-2 conference record, they will look to top their rivals heading into the playoffs.

Butler and Independence have each won in their two meetings. Independence traveled to Butler in late March and topped them 7-5 in extra innings. Butler spoiled Independence's Senior Night after defeating the Patriots 4-0.

The final will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday, May 5th at Butler High School.
