Domino's Pizza is a household name and a big brand, but because they are franchise owned, our local Domino's have been owned and operated by our neighbors in the community for over 30 years.  Taylor Patterson, whose family owns 63 stores in the Carolinas, is a co-owner and a Field Marketing Lead for Domino's. He has been working with Ardrey Kell AKABC concessions and corporate sponsorships for two years now.

Taylor and his family have lived in Charlotte their whole lives.  He grew up with an identical twin brother and went to Providence High School and Appalachian State University. Taylor tells us, "During COVID, Domino's has been very fortunate to stay open and deliver hot, fresh pizza, safely, to the masses.  At all locations, our employees are masked up and practicing Contactless Curbside Delivery for carry out as well as home deliveries."

Taylor says, "We take pride in our people and we promote our 3 basic principles - Teamwork, Enthusiasm & The Golden Rule - in everything we do." This sense of community came through during COVID.  He explains, "Domino's has a Partners Foundation.  It was created as a non-profit to help team members in need.  At the point of hire, employees can choose to donate any amount of their paycheck to the foundation. Every penny that gets donated ends up in a team member's hands.  Throughout COVID, we get emails saying someone from our team got the help they needed.  It's a great feeling that Domino's nationwide is there to support team members."

Taylor expresses thanks to AKABC for the benefits of being a sponsor.  He says, "With Ardrey Kell being the powerhouse that it is, we are honored to be a sponsor of Athletics.  This sponsorship has not only helped the store that delivers directly to the school, but it has also helped neighboring stores all over Charlotte.  Visiting parents and families at athletic events see our pizza being offered and it reminds them of how good the product really is."

Taylor gives these words of advice to our students, "Don't rush all the fun things in life. There will always be a time and place for those things.  Focus on the friendships you have because you never know what will happen tomorrow.  In business, do what you love and never settle for the easy route."

Thank you to Taylor Patterson and Domino's for continuing to partner with AK Athletics, even this year when it's not easy. We look forward to more Domino's delivery of hot, fresh pizza to our sporting events and our homes!
