CMS Athletics Weekly Round Up

CMS football teams concluded their second week of conference play last week. Games were played on Thursday and Friday night. We saw some teams continue to dominate on the field and others gained positive ground in their mission for post season play. Did you miss any of the football action? Read below for a list of scores and updates!


Thursday, September 28

East Meck def. Independence, 27-7

East Meck bounced back from two straight losses to defeat Independence by twenty points last Thursday night. The conference win evens the Golden Eagles record the 3-3 on the season. Independence drops to 1-5.


Harding def. Providence, 46-23

Harding remained a force to be reckoned with last week with a solid performance over Providence. The team won by a twenty-three-point margin advancing their record to 1-5 on the season. Providence remains overall positive on the season with a record holding at 4-3.


North Meck def. West Charlotte, 19-6

North Meck remains undefeated on the season after their 19-6 conference victory over West Charlotte last Thursday night. A credit to both defenses as only twenty-five points were scored throughout the entire game. North Meck moves to 6-0 on the season while West Charlotte evens out to 3-3.


Vance def. Hopewell, 47-0

Vance dominated I-Meck conference opponent Hopewell last week. The Cougars shut out the Hopewell offense advancing their record to 4-2 on the season. Hopewell will prep for another tough match-up next week as they are set to take on undefeated North Meck.


Butler def. Porter Ridge, 40-17

Butler earned a hard-fought victory over Southwestern conference opponent Porter Ridge last Thursday night. The win advance the Bulldogs record to 4-1 on the season.


West Meck def. Ardrey Kell, 21-7

West Meck continued to gain momentum last week with a So Meck 7 conference win over Ardrey Kell. The Eagles advance their record to 5-2 on the season. Ardrey Kell will head back the drawing board as they prep for South Meck next week.


Myers Park def. Rocky River, 21-0

Myers Park continues to dominate the Southwestern conference. The team shut out Rocky River last Thursday night, 21-0. The Mustangs record advances to 6-0 overall. Rocky River will travel to Hickory Ridge for another tough match-up next week in search of their first conference win.


South Meck def. Olympic, 33-14

South Meck earned their first win of the season last week defeating Olympic 33-14. The Sabres advance their record to 1-5 on the season while Olympic evens out with the loss to 3-3.


Concord def. Berry, 42-20

Berry suffered another loss to out-of-conference opponent Concord last week. The team is still looking to gain some positive momentum late in the season. They will prep for Harding next week.


Friday, September 29

Mallard Creek def. Lake Norman, 34-3

Mallard Creek earned their sixth straight win last week over Lake Norman. The Mavericks defense allowed just three points on the night. They remain undefeated with an overall record of 6-0.


Hough def. Mooresville, 12-8

Hough at Mooresville proved an intense match-up. Only twenty points were scored on the night, however, Hough secured the victory earning twelve of those points. The Huskies advance their record to 4-2 on the season.


Hickory Ridge def. Garinger, 45-0

Garinger dropped another game last week to conference opponent Hickory Ridge. The team was unable to put up any numbers on the night. They are scheduled to face East Meck next week in search of their second win on the season.

Men's Soccer

CMS men’s soccer teams faced a really tough schedule last week as was reflected in the scores. We saw many one-point victories and a couple ties.
