The Charlotte Hornets Foundation awarded Randolph Middle School an equipment grant that resulted in new shoulder pads for the school football team. On Friday, March 23rd Alexandria Howard, Manager of the Charlotte Hornets Foundation, along with several foundation employees, Hugo the Hornet, and two Hornet cheerleaders visited the school to deliver the shoulder pads. The pads were laid out in the school cafeteria and after a creative way to get the football players in their jerseys the players headed to the cafeteria where they were completely surprised and highly excited. Randolph football players spent 20 minutes trying on the pads, meeting Hugo and the cheerleaders, and posing for pictures. After a couple donuts, it was back to class. Short and sweet, and a ton of fun! Thank you Matthew Weber, Randolph Middle School athletic director for pursuing the Charlotte Hornets Foundation equipment grant and arranging this awesome experience for Randolph student-athletes.
