"We are excited to have Luke back this year at Ardrey Kell," said Coach Craft, "Luke is a heady guard who will help us on many levels." The Knights will start practice on Wednesday and open up against Marvin Ridge on November 18th at the Castle.
Josh Freund enters his senior year at AK as the tallest and biggest player on the team. He will be looked upon to provide scoring and rebounding for the Knights. "Josh Freund is a center who can step out and shoot the basketball. He has worked extremely hard on his game and it has shown in fall workouts. Josh is a going to be a big part of our program this season," said Coach Craft.

AK senior basketball player Rhyle Scott begins his third year on the varsity and his fourth year in the program. Scott has worked to make himself into a starter and was a key contributor on the team last year that won 24 games. "Rhyle Scott is a self-made player. He has a great attitude and does what it takes to help the team win. Rhyle can really finish around the basket and has developed one of the most lethal jump-hooks in the state of North Carolina," said Coach Craft.

Seth Davis returns for his third campaign on the varsity for Ardrey Kell. He has been a reliable and consistent player for the Knights during his two years on the varsity. The Knights' record the last two years is 47-13, and Seth has been a big part of that! The Knights will open the season at home on November 17 vs. Marvin Ridge.

The Knights will open the season November 17th vs. Marvin Ridge in the Castle.

Steven Santa Ana is going to continue his basketball career at Elon University next year. Santa Ana announced his decision on Sunday after returning from his official visit to Elon. Steven felt very comfortable on his visit and Elon has been recruiting him very hard of late. He will play for Matt Matheny, a close friend of Coach Craft as they worked together at Davidson College. "I am very happy to be going to Elon University," said Steven, "I think it is a great fit for me academically, socially, and basketball wise."
Santa Ana will be the tenth player in AK history to play college basketball. He joins Kevin Davis, Alex Watkins, Miguel Cardona, Kendall Smith, Justin Cheek, Cameron McQueen, TJ Cox, Tate Small, and Markel Pollard as the former Knights who have played in college.
