This will get you all updates pushed out in regards to Rea Farms Athletics.
As we move into seasons each team will have their own Remind for sport specific information, and will be shared with students and families after the final roster is determined.
CMS middle school (grade 7 and 8 only) students are offered 13 sports in which they can try out. As a K-8 some of our sports will be held here at RFSA, while other merge with other K-8 schools, and others play at Community House Middle School. Each Sport page (listed under their season) will be updated with new information as it becomes avaliable. No game schedule will be available until at least May, and likely not until August. No schedule is final until the start of the season, but can be used for general planning purposes.
A little bit about my experience:
I am honored to serve as the very first athletic director at Rea Farms STEAM Academy and know that our student athletes have some amazing experiences ahead, making memories they will never forget. I came to CMS in 2014, after completing my undergraduate degree at Western Carolina University. I immediately jumped in to help with athletics and served all three seasons per year as the first responder. I have three and a half years (yep, my mom was not happy when I changed majors haha) of athletic training education to help with prevention and recovery of athletic injuries so it seemed like a great fit. I could not have been more excited.
Two years later, our long term athletic director decided to dedicate more time to his children as they were growing up, and asked me to take over. I did! I was eager but knew I had big shoes to fill. Unfortunately after my second year, our school numbers decreased and I was displaced to a new school. When Rea Farms opened I was so excited at the opportunity to serve student athletes once again, knowing that these times are so special for each involved individual.
With RFSA being a K-8, we have a very different set up than traditional middle schools, and it provides us with a very unique opportunity to really build relationships that will last lifetimes, not only in our school walls and fields, but within our community! We have a great opportunity ahead and I cannot be more excited for all of us to bond together and build what is Falcon Athletics.
I am looking to facilitate the start of Athletic Booster Club, to be able to provide more for our athletes that what the budget provided allows, and will be looking to fill the board by the start of next school year.
I am here to answer questions, and give guidance, please feel free to reach out to me, and together we will support our student athletes.
